Build a wall of shaving cream that blots out the sun

One phrase that now lives in my head rent-free is “state of shopping,” courtesy of Blackbird Spyplane, our nation’s paper of record. They write mostly about clothes, and for them, the idea of buying new things and fitting into trend causes a sort of zombie-like acquisitive mode without any real endgame.

But state of shopping can apply to anything.

I fondly remember when I first got into fancy shaving gear, and I found a forum that was devoted to reviewing creams, brushes, and razors. The forum was, and remains, really helpful! Some of the regulars on that forum had shelves full of shaving gear, dozens of creams & brushes, different razors for hyper-specific purposes in their daily grooming routines.
