Fewer, better hoodies
Here are the fashion rules:
- Buy socks that will last. Darn Tough, Farm to Feet, etc. Mend your socks. Wear them multiple times between washes.
- Get merino base layers. Do what you can to save money here, most of the quality is similar. Wear them multiple times between washes.
- Invest heavily in a few basic, universal, timeless, minimalist pieces with no logo coverage. Look for quality tailoring and solid construction. Look for something just interesting enough to stand out on you, but not so interesting that it would flag as a “statement piece” that could ever possibly get old. Wear everything into the ground.
- Do whatever you want with underwear. I’m not gonna give you rules here, that’s weird.
We’re talking about #3 today – and the jam, friends, is Evan Kinori, an independent designer from San Francisco. Not everything Evan Kinori makes is for me, but when it hits, fam, it hits.
These are not cheap pieces. They are handmade, limited edition, with unconventional fabrics. One of them will blow most of a reasonable person’s clothing budget for the year.
