Not for everyone, maybe for you
If you want to know what the inside of my brain sounds like, you could do worse than the Deep Ark, a brief eight-hour mix of mostly nineties IDM. It is downloadable. It is on YouTube. There is a companion book. The person who made it had to remix many of the tracks to fit together, and then they stitched it all together with found sounds & songs of their own. Each song has its own review on the website, alongside links to stream or buy. Copyright has been hella infringed. This all took over a decade.
In an accompanying interview, the audience is described thus:
The ideal listener would be an obsessive Warp Records fan with an appreciation of mixing, a keen ear for detail, 8 hours to spend listening on headphones preferably outdoors in some kind natural setting, and an appreciation of nostalgia, poetry and pseudo-academic mythopoeia.
Oh, so me, then. Cool.
