Some things that have helped

There are very few objects in my life that I’d classify as having universally made my existence easier, but I feel like the few that have are worth talking about in some text. I’ve written about some of these before, but not all.

Defy Insidious Jr.

Humanity continues to sleep on Defy. Made nearby where I live, their bags are functional, wear hard, fit every weather condition, and get out of your way. They have been around for as long as I’ve lived here, and yet they seem to receive very little coverage more broadly.

Their sling, Insidious Jr., is my favorite single bag that I own of any kind. Its pockets hold my usual carry accessories: hand salve, lip balm, knife (I do bike in Chicago), mask, kleenex, toothpicks. The main pocket is large enough to fit some combination of two bike locks, a notebook, my camera, and a small water bottle. The outer strap holds a bluetooth speaker and keychain easily. It doesn’t look a day old.
