The one thing you need
In my own spiritual journey, I have come to believe very few things as true axioms of existence. Most of them are very boring, obvious, Buddhist-of-center things about love, beauty, nature, connection, and consciousness that would bore most of you. One of them, though, has been parsed as “spicy,” despite the fact that I am & remain universally correct. Here, for your contemplation, is the nugget of sacred wisdom you never knew you needed:
Every spiritual person needs a watch.
Are you a yoga teacher? Watch. Do you practice witchcraft? Lovely, whomst amongst us. Watch. Reiki attuned? Watch. Do you know what the akashic records are? Definitely watch. I am an active yoga practitioner here in Chicago, and I have worn a watch for over a quarter century. Not once have I regretted doing so. Wearing a watch completely rules. It has palpably helped my life and the lives of those around me. I will ride this one straight into the ground if I have to.
Did you just have a breakthrough experience that wholesale relitigated your relationship to reality? I have a great idea for a cheap, simple tool that will act as your tether to consensus existence – and that, my friend, is a watch. Are you constantly late to stuff in the wake of that experience, yet blaming everyone else for it? May I gently suggest that this is not a great look! Get a watch.
